PLEXSYS releases ASCOT Version 5.37 with Point-Click Routing, Damage Calculator, Windows 10 compatibility

CAMAS, WASHINGTON (October 25, 2016) – The Advanced Simulation Combat Operations Trainer (ASCOT) is the backbone for entity generation and simulation management for customers around the world. PLEXSYS Interface Products, Inc. once again meets its customers’ diverse needs with new features and improvements to enhance the user experience and simplify simulation training.

With this update, PLEXSYS has added the Automatic Identification System (AIS), an identification system used primarily by surface vessels, the capability to model the integration of surface vessels in an air and missile defense architecture, and the ability to take-off and land aircraft from a carrier. Additionally, ASCOT can now model anti-aircraft artillery (AAA) barrage for use against simulated and virtual aircraft as well as more accurately model the impact of weapons on an entity with its Damage Calculator. An oft requested feature now in ASCOT is point-click routing, enabling the user to route an entity to several points, tell the entity to re-run the route, and/or to run the route in reverse, all during run-time. While adding features, PLEXSYS is always making its products more user-friendly.

ASCOT 5.37 comes with more of its scenario management features accessible through the Scenario Data Management Tool (SDMT), such as the management of ASCOT’s internal parameters (e.g., entity heartbeats), the creation and editing of cluster munitions, and the relationships of fire support units in Air and Missile Defense. Additionally, ASCOT’s data link is improved to integrate with the ASCOT Tabular Display Fire Control feature to send appropriate J12.6 messages.
