AFCEA WEST Details
The annual WEST Conference, hosted by the U.S. Naval Institute and AFCEA International, invites attendees to experience a variety of leading-edge technologies, panels and keynote discussions from DoD and DHS officials, and networking opportunities that support the Sea Services' operations.
The three-day event caters to the 150,000 U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard professionals in the San Diego area. Guests can expect to connect with industry leaders and learn about cutting-edge technology. Senior military and government officials will engage in open dialogue with operators to gain valuable feedback.
Experience APEX at Boeing Booth #1931
APEX is a full spectrum mission training environment, developed by Boeing in collaboration with Intrinsic and PLEXSYS, to support operators throughout the continuum of training. It is an affordable, deployable, high-fidelity integrated air warfare training system optimized for a deployable training environment. The APEX training system is currently undergoing proof of concept testing and evaluation at Afloat Training Group Pacific and aboard U.S. Navy ships deployed in support of Commander, U.S. 7th Fleet in the INDOPACOM area of responsibility.
APEX enables compact, persistent, deployable, integrated multi-platform team training directly at the point of need. It is a scalable software solution that leverages the entire PLEXSYS ecosystem of Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training readiness solutions including our Advanced Simulation Combat Operations Trainer (ASCOT) 7 high-fidelity environment generator, our Sonomarc communications and audio distribution software, and our Video, Audio, and Data for After Action Review (VADAAR) 2 software.
The APEX system provides an immersive simulation background across single or multiple sites. The modern, intuitive user interface simplifies developing complex scenarios with dynamic entity creation, management, and comprehensive data link capabilities. Derived from “A Personal Experience” APEX allows the user to fill the gap by creating their own training environment and is designed to provide centralized training event planning, simulation control and orchestration, scenario and content management anytime, anywhere, globally.
Visit Parry Labs and PLEXSYS at Booth #2850
The Global Expeditionary Miniature Mission Interface (GEMMI), developed by Parry Labs, has integrated PLEXSYS's Advanced Simulation Combat Operations Trainer (ASCOT) 7. This integration will create a realistic joint operating environment for training purposes, specifically designed to support the unique needs of US Marines and US Navy personnel. GEMMI, which is already in use with the US Army's Gray Eagle units, acts as a compact Ground Control System supporting live flight operations. By leveraging ASCOT's advanced simulation capabilities, GEMMI enhances Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) Command and Control (C2) training for land, surface, air, and space operations. GEMMI paired with ASCOT 7 provides a particularly mobile capability for preparing Marines and Navy forces for operations involving the Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) initiative.
Featured Technologies:
- Advanced Simulation Combat Operations Trainer (ASCOT): ASCOT is a real-time interactive simulation tool that easily manages the entire battlespace from single-ship Close Air Support (CAS) missions to multi-axis, multi-ship Large Force Exercises and Special Operations. Multiple systems can be networked together at a single site, or at multiple sites around the world for dynamic large-scale joint and coalition exercises.
- Sonomarc: This client-server communication system provides modern, automated, and flexible communication capabilities and audio distribution. It enables standards-compliant connections to standard simulation protocols such as DIS and HLA.
- Video, Audio, and Data for After-Action Review (VADAAR) 2: VADAAR 2 provides a local and distributed, multi-participant after-action review capability, all accomplished within a light and upgradeable software framework that uses your existing computer network, eliminating the need for additional hardware. It allows you to record, review, and stream video, audio, and data locally or anywhere in the world from any device.
Subject matter experts will offer impromptu and scheduled one-on-one interviews relating to our technologies at Booth 1931 (APEX) and Booth 2850 (GEMMI). To schedule an appointment, please contact Ted “TAG” Heflin at eheflin@plexsys.com or Robert “Rob” Sousa at rsousa@plexsys.com.
